The Deputy Prime Minister (commonly abbreviated as DPM ) is the deputy Head of Government and is the second highest ranking officer in the Executive Branch. The Deputy Prime Minister is a member of cabinet and is second in line to the position of Prime Minister. In previous constitutions, the Deputy Prime Minister remains a largely symbolic role, holding no actual power over the functions of the government except as an advisor to the Prime Minister. In the current Constitution of the Republic of Stratham, the Deputy Prime Minister has a solidified role as the Deputy Head of Government and can be delegated additional responsibilities and powers by the Prime Minister.
History
Appointment Process
After Koalition decided to step down as Prime Minister and the position was made electable, the Deputy Prime Minister was appointed by the Prime Minister with consent of the Parliament.
On August 29, 2021 the role of Deputy Prime Minister alongside with Prime Minister was made an electable position. Kailabeann was the first elected Deputy Prime Minister.
