Writer

The writer qualification allows players to write and publish their own books and can be received via an exam at the University.

Publishing Books

In order to publish a book, you must first source books and quills, which can be sourced at the Library near spawn for 1kr/book, or can be crafted with 1 book, 1 squid ink, and 1 feather. Then you must write the book, being careful not to be kicked for being AFK, as you will lose all written progress. Some players recommend writing in an external software, than pasting into a writable book, both for ease of writing and the use of word processing software.

Once you have completed a manuscript and are ready to publish, you may make copies of your book. Some players recommend selling copies of a copy, as opposed to copies of the original, to prevent other reselling your original work. However, writers may sell their work however and to whomever they wish. This includes door-to-door peddling, setting up chest shops in a mall or storefront, or including books in sales of other items.

Writing Commands

• /book - This command will seal an unsigned book and make the contents unreadable, or it will un-seal/reseal a signed book so that you can edit it once again.
• /iteminfo - This command can be used to find the shop sign of any item, and is especially helpful for written books
