Blackwater City, more commonly referred to as "Blackwater" or abbreviated "BW," was often regarded to as one of the most successful unofficial city projects in BusinessCraft history. Throughout its nearly 2 year long existence, Blackwater amassed a population that rivaled that of some official cities, such as the likes of Ocean City and Palm Bay. This led to questions being raised about the possibility of a player settlement becoming an official city, with many players, both on and off the city council rallying behind the idea. Alas, after nearly two years of construction, the Blackwater project was abandoned due to the majority of the founding members leaving the server or being banned.

Humble Beginnings

Blackwater City was started amidst the Covid-19 pandemic in late 2019/early 2020. A player known by the name stinkycow would invite 4 of his real life friends, FlamingNinja728, Magic_Dino, Qcumbers, and SteeledApple76, to join in on his BusinessCraft adventure. Within weeks the group had formed an attachment to the server, and began putting in countless hours to further themselves on the server.

The land Blackwater was constructed on was originally founded by SteeledApple76 (also referred to as "stel"). stel opted for a more laid back approach the BusinessCraft, settling for a humble career as a farmer. He began by constructing a ranch house, modeled after the house in Red Dead Redemption 2. He later constructed a four quadrant farm, in which he housed the two cows he transported over 6000 blocks north from the town of Lexford. Following the construction of his ranch, stel's perception of his BusinessCraft career quickly began to change. He found himself setting his eyes on a bigger picture, wanting to build his own wild west themed town, which he named Blackwater after the town of the same name in RDR2.
