The Department of State, more commonly abbreviated as the (DoS), is the successor to the Department of City Relations (Defunct). It has the additional responsibility for carrying out Stratham's foreign policy, approving news and political organizations, handling elections, and auditing of Departments and Cities/Towns. The Department of State was officially created by Parliament on November 25, 2021 with the proposal by Member of Parliament Topte.
History
Creation of Department of State
The DoS was created September of 2021 by a bill named "Department of State" replacing the Department of City Relations (Defunct).
The bill read:
Title: Department of State (DoS)
Type: Creation
Description: The Department of State will be responsible for managing foreign affairs, the election process, city relations, confirming political parties, managing the census, and the government feedback survey.
Bill:
-Foreign affairs will now be directed by the DoS Minister.
-The ambassador will report to the DoS Minister. They will be nominated by the Prime Minister and confirmed by parliament.
-The Department of City Relations will be merged with the Department of State and will maintain the same responsibilities.
-Elections will be run by the DoS with the department minister in charge of all election-related forum postings and running the debate(s)
-Political Parties will apply on forums in a sub-category under the DoS application.
-The DoS will be responsible for managing the census and government feedback survey.
Additional Information: Department employees will be called City advisor and State secretary.
The first Minister of the Department of state was Stinkycow, and shortly after creation the DoCR was removed.
During the initial stages of the DoS two towns where removed, Political parties where initiated, news networks where under authority of DoS, and the DoS started City Census's, and orchestrated foreign affairs and Olympics, as well as conducted elections early on.
