As a Lawyer, you’re responsible for helping the players regarding [[Businesscraft Law]] - you should be able to read and interpret the law and convey strong arguments as to why the law should be interpreted in the way you mean.

Lawyers are to be hired for court cases if you do not want to represent yourself. Try to avoid these things as a lawyer; Misrepresenting the law to clients and a courtroom, being dishonest and arguing in bad faith.

=== Things You Need to Know ===

You should be comfortable with legal terms such as [[common law]], which is a system of law that is derived from customs and precedent created by judges, or [[Stare Decisis]], which is the legal principle of precedent where previous cases can be drawn to make decisions to the current ones.

You should also be comfortable with most of the common laws in [[Businesscraft]], such as [[Sherlock Accords]], where you use your government position for your self-advantage.

Cases in Businesscraft allow players to pull laws related to the server, though you may use real-world common law legal concepts to aid your argument. BusinessCraft uses the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common%20law Common Law System].

Cases are pretty informative when it comes to understanding the law. Cases such as Endeav0r vs Shoring, Olympus v. Olympus Brands, and the Blacksyth v. Dwerpy are important to understanding common law concepts. Additionally, the DoJ vs Government (Appeal) was important as this was the first appeal case and it set the guidelines for how to appeal cases run on the server. As a Lawyer, you’ll only be able to work for a firm or in-house as a lawyer for one company. This is to prevent any one lawyer from being able to eat up too much of the legal market on their own so that others can have some market share.

Tippy started playing [[BusinessCraft]] on 6th December 2021 whilst trying to find a comfy server with friendly people to play with, not realising it was a political roleplay server until they had already met and befriended [[Kikochu]], [[Mickichu]] and others.
